Obiettivi formativi
Declinazioni tecniche e prospettive diagnostiche.
History of artistic techniques L-ART/04
Course Title
From Jean Perréal to Jean-Etienne Liotard. The crayon technique in European visual arts between the 15th and the 18th century. Technical aspects and analysis perspectives.
Course Goals
The course deals with the multilayered development, in a European setting, of the crayon technique between the 15th and the 18th century. A complex technique, which poses conservation problems which during the centuries have led artists to experiment with various and peculiar pigments, binders and fixing techniques. These experiments are difficult to survey with old sources; a good contribution to their interpretation is given by today analysis techniques.
